From Audacity Manual
Peter 29Nov12: just why is this page called "Quick Help" when the nav-bar menu item that points here is labelled "Getting Started"? Note, too, that the footers in each of the pages pointed at here have a "Back to Getting Started", and the intro note says "Welcome to the "Getting Started" ...". GS is a better title imo than QH anyway - but we surely should have some consistency in this?
- Peter 2Dec12: Gale pointed out in an email response that this is because "the entry in the Help Menu in Audacity says "Quick Help"." - though he points out that he thinks "most of the Manual Team think "Getting Started" is better" and "I think "Getting Started" is a more common and user-friendly term". He suggested and said he would support "raising this on -quality and suggesting a rename of the Audacity menu item as I think it would encourage uptake of the "Quick Help" pages." I agree with him and will raise the issue on quality.
- Peter 10Dec12: Having raised this issue on quality and received no response )except from Gale who suggested using "DISPLAYTITLE" to at least kept the manual self-consistent) I judge that there is no appetite to change the "Quick Help" in Audacity 2.0.x to "Getting Started". Accordingly I have implemented Gale's suggestion and added to the intro note "quick help" text so that readers who land here from Audacity program will not be entirely confused (hopefully).
